Can I claim grants for a renovation I've already done?
Often, yes. The CAE energy-saving scheme can be claimed up to 3 years after the work was finished, as long as it started after January 2023 and improved the home's efficiency (windows, insulation, aerothermal, air conditioning). And depending on your situation, the energy tax deduction too. It's worth checking before writing it off.
How much can I get back?
It depends on the work. Honestly: for a single home it's usually a modest amount (the CAE pays for the energy saved), more of a bonus than a big cheque. But it's money that's otherwise lost — and finding out is free.
